If you’re on my blog, it might be because you’re a writer, a reader, or a mom (working from home or not). Or maybe you’re just bored and fell down an Internet rabbit hole. Welcome!
If you’re a writer and a mom, then this post is probably one you can relate to. Before, we had to balance having a day job and relationships with writing. Now we have to balance all that, and taking care of tiny humans. But how?
We adapt. I used to have a full fledged office and rituals that included watching YouTube music videos of fandoms that gave me the same feels as my series or listening to my Heirs of War playlists on Spotify. I’d write thousands of words in one sitting.
Writing looks much different for me now. I don’t have an office. I don’t even use my laptop all the time. I use my phone.
Craaaaazy, am I right?
I'm not even kidding though. I write my books (and a lot of my blog posts) with my thumbs.
I’ve learned as a new parent to do what I can, when I can. That means grabbing moments to do a few dishes, hang up a few shirts, take a snooze, read a few pages, or write a few lines. I might not always write thousands of words in one sitting every time, but I might also crank out a hole chapter while my husband drives us to his aunt’s house for a family dinner. My writing space is now anywhere and everywhere, as long as I have my phone.
