July's Featured Author: Katie Hamstead (#1)

It seems only fitting that I introduce this series with my dear friend Katie Hamstead. Katie is the author of over a dozen books, including the Historical Romance series KIYA. The first book, KIYA: Hope of the Pharoah is being rereleased this month and the other two books are releasing in coming months. I'm super excited to see these books in print again. When Katie and I did a book signing in Las Vegas years ago, I couldn't stop myself from gushing about her books to potential readers who stopped by. I'm happy to do the same in the digital world and tell you all about how amazing Katie's voice is. Just be warned: You will want to devour everything she's written after you start reading her books.

Meet Katie Hamstead:

Born and raised in Australia, Katie's early years of day dreaming in the "bush," and having her father tell her wild bedtime stories, inspired her passion for writing.

After graduating High School, she became a foreign exchange student. Now she lives in Idaho with her daughters and their collection of animals.

When her debut novel, Kiya: Hope of the Pharaoh, climbed into bestselling status, she believed she was onto something, and now has a slew of novels available, and is published through REUTS Publishing and Soul Mate Publishing.

Katie loves to out sing her friends and family, play sports, and be a mother. She now works as a Special Education Paraprofessional to help support her family while she studies Education and English. She loves to write, and takes the few spare moments in her day to work on her novels.

KIYA: Hope of the Pharoah

Katie Hamstead's best-selling trilogy returns! Newly edited, with a brand new, never-before-seen deleted scene, return to the world of Kiya--a tale perfect for fans of The Prince of Egypt and The King and I.

When Naomi’s sisters are snatched up to be taken to be wives of the erratic Pharaoh, Akhenaten, she knows they won’t survive the palace, so she offers herself in their place. The fearsome Commander Horemheb sees her courage, and knows she is exactly what he is looking for…

The Great Queen Nefertiti despises Naomi instantly, and strips her of her Hebrew lineage, including her name, which is changed to Kiya. Kiya allies herself with Horemheb, who pushes her to greatness and encourages her to make the Pharaoh fall in love with her. When Akhenaten declares Kiya will be the mother of his heir, Nefertiti, furious with jealousy, schemes to destroy Kiya.

Kiya must play the deadly game carefully. She is in a silent battle of wills, and a struggle for who will one day inherit the crown. If she does bear an heir, she knows she will need to fight to protect him, as well as herself, from Nefertiti who is out for blood.
